Take part of the 2022 ULI Philippines Mentorship Programme, now open for applications this July!
15 September 2022
The Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) Philippines, in efforts to promote and provide further visibility to women in real estate, will host a Design Competition in partnership with the National Parks Development Committee (NPDC) for Paco Park, a national park in Manila. This is open to all-female teams within the Philippines to engage in an exercise in concept and visioning, design story narrative and schematic design. Teams of three to five women have four weeks to devise a development guide for the park.
Paco Park is a 6000sqm park, initially built as a cemetery in 1820, it has now been converted into a national park. It is the first burial site of Dr. Jose Rizal, and the current burial site of the three martyred priests – Padre Gomes, Padre Burgos, Padre Zamora, collectively known as “GomBurZa.” Today as a national park it serves a venue for many events, concerts and most especially weddings in its St. Pancratius Chapel administered by the Vicentians of Adamson University.
The competition is part of the WLI Philippines’ ongoing effort to raise the profile of women in the real estate industry as well as support sustainable design in the country. The competition is open to all women within in the real estate profession with the required minimum of one (1) licensed architect and/or licensed landscape architect lead in the team.
The top three award winners will receive significant cash prizes and the winning entry’s design will be executed for the beneficiary.
Registration for the competition is now open. Qualified teams will be given an ample time to design their concept based on the details of the lot plan. Top ten finalists will be shortlisted by late October, and awarding will be done at the National Parks Congress in November 2022.
