UrbanPlan
UrbanPlan’s mission is to create a sophisticated level of discourse among local stakeholders involved in land use decisions through the education of tomorrow’s voters, neighbors, community leaders, public officials, and land use professionals so—together—we can create better communities.
What Is UrbanPlan?
UrbanPlan is a realistic, engaging exercise in which participants—public officials, high school students or university students—learn about the fundamental forces that affect real estate development in our communities. Participants experience the challenging issues, private and public sector roles, complex trade-offs, and fundamental economics in play when proposing realistic land use solutions to vexing growth challenges. In 2018, ULI Asia Pacific launched 3 pilots in Hong Kong, Manila and Singapore.
UrbanPlan in the Philippines
In 2018, ULI Philippines, in partnership with De La Salle University, was among the first National Councils in Asia to launch UrbanPlan in the university curriculum. The programme is now being taught as part of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde BS-Real Estate Management course.
On November 2018, ULI Philippines, in partnership with the Department of Budget and Management and in line with the Green, Green, Green initiative, held the UrbanPlan for Public Officials programme for over 25 city planning officials of the Philippines.
